Taropy. "Taro therapy". Expanding on the "Healing Gardens" principals outlined in the Ho'olokahi Program through the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center, we have committed to providing potted taro and sweet potato plants for elderly and shut-ins in order to provide some activity and joy in their lives. As the plants grow, they can provide shoots for other plants to be given to family and friends. They can be a living reminder of family members who have passed on. It can keep us focused on loving each other like it says in the bible in the book of John, chapter 15. These plants are gifts and come from the heart. We grow the taro and sweet potato ourselves, pot them and provide "Taropy" for others.
